Modern Lab Software, Built by Lab People
LabLynx has spent 25+ years helping laboratories ditch paper and work smarter. We build the tools — ELN, LIMS, automation, and cloud infrastructure — so your team can focus on science.
The Team Behind ELabELN
ELabELN is built by LabLynx, Inc. — one of the longest-running laboratory informatics companies in the world. What started in 1992 as a division of Atlanta Systems Consultants became, by 1997, the team behind the first browser-based LIMS ever shown at Pittcon. LabLynx incorporated in 2000 and has been shipping lab software from Atlanta ever since.
What makes LabLynx different is philosophy: labs shouldn't have to rip out what works or hire consultants every time a workflow changes. The ELab platform is a data-driven framework — you configure screens, instruments, tests, and access controls yourself, in minutes, without writing code. That architecture traces back to openLIMS (2004), one of the first open-source LIMS tools ever released, and it's why LabLynx customers can spin up an entirely new department or lab location without a multi-month implementation project.
LabLynx also founded the Laboratory Informatics Institute in 2006 to advance open standards across the industry, and created JetSoft, a non-profit supporting developers who build scientific open-source tools. In a market dominated by proprietary lock-in, LabLynx bets on openness — and that bet is why the platform integrates cleanly with eLabFTW, Node-RED, Nextcloud, and dozens of third-party instruments and systems.
Pioneers of Browser-Based Lab Software
In 1997 LabLynx demonstrated the first browser-based LIMS at Pittcon — years before competitors moved to the web. That head start means decades of real-world refinement no newcomer can replicate.
Configure Without Code
The ELab platform is built on a data-driven framework. Add departments, instruments, tests, and entirely new lab workflows in minutes — no developers, no professional services, no waiting.
Open-Source DNA
LabLynx released openLIMS in 2004 and founded JetSoft to support scientific open-source. We integrate with eLabFTW, Node-RED, and Nextcloud — extending their power without locking you in.
One Platform, Full Stack
ELN, LIMS, lab automation, and cloud infrastructure from a single vendor. No stitching together point solutions. One login, one support team, one bill.
Four Suites. One Platform.
Everything LabLynx builds runs on the same cloud-native foundation. Each suite adds a layer of capability — pick the one that matches where your lab is today, and grow into the next when you're ready.
Lab Automation Suite
Connect instruments. Eliminate manual entry.
For labs that want to automate data capture and orchestrate instrument workflows — without committing to a full ELN or LIMS. Plug in your instruments, define workflows visually, and let the system handle the rest.
What sets this apart
The only suite that gives you LabVia visual workflow orchestration — no scripting, no middleware, no IT dependency.
ELN Suite
Your complete digital lab notebook.
Everything in the Automation Suite, plus a full electronic lab notebook and secure external data sharing. The most popular choice for labs moving from paper to a compliant, searchable, auditable digital workflow.
What sets this apart
Built-in FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, e-signatures, and full audit trails — not a bolt-on module you pay extra for.
LIMS Suite
End-to-end sample management & lab operations.
The complete platform: sample tracking, chain of custody, ELN, automation, portals, and document management in one integrated suite. For labs that need to manage the full lifecycle from sample receipt to final report.
What sets this apart
Pre-configured editions for your industry — pharma, environmental, cannabis, forensics, clinical, and more — so deployment takes weeks, not months.
Your LabLynx Suite
Built around your exact requirements.
Not every lab fits a package. Choose exactly the components, integrations, and services you need. This is what LabLynx has done for 25+ years — building tailored informatics solutions for labs with unique workflows, compliance regimes, or integration needs.
What sets this apart
Full access to LabLynx's professional services team — the same engineers who've been building custom lab informatics solutions since 1997.
All suites include sciCloud.net hosting, LabVista analytics, LabDrive document management, and expert support. Each tier adds more platform components.
